Project Process

Working on such a project with my favorite sneaker brand Nike was one of the most enjoyable personal projects I have done. In a short time of 2 weeks, I challenged myself and created a motion graphics ad where colors were at the forefront but did not stray away from the brand identity. For this dynamic motion graphics project, I aimed to showcase the energy and spirit of the Nike brand, I worked on 30 seconds of 1920x1080 dimensions at 30FPS in After Effects.

My motivation was to reflect the clean look even in a version where colors were used extensively. And yes, green and orange are some of my fav colors and I was so excited to use these combinations.

Research & Inspiration

First of all, creating a mood board and asking myself 'why Nike?' helped me to come up with the cool ideas. As seen in the Style Guide, I used the iconic Nike font Futura, which matches the brand identity, just by playing around with the font weight.

Storyboard

This roughly drawn storyboard shows mainly the animated graphics. Before moving into After Effects, I created the style frames in Illustrator. There is also mathematics in animations and it starts here. Also, it is very motivating to see that motions can be reflected successfully while moving them all in harmony.

The interface where I once again understand the importance of the order of After Effects files and assets :) It is very important to be organized in order to finalize the work done. 🫡
